About Westlock Baptist Church

Welcome to the website of Westlock Baptist Church in Westlock, Alberta. We are an evangelical congregation of Bible-believing Christians who trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We love the Bible, the very Word of God and believe that in an age of superficial religion and man-centered Christianity, the great need of our times is for people to return to the teachings of Scripture. We believe God’s truth applies to every area of life and is to be lived out for the Glory of God.

The church seeks to learn and experience God's Word in an atmosphere of worship, praise and encouragement. Our desire as a church is to glorify God, to enjoy Him, to obey Him and to make Him known in every sphere of life. We seek to serve the Lord as a body of believers with varying spiritual gifts and ministries yet in unity and love for one another. Our great work as a church is to proclaim the powerful, hope filled message of the gospel of Christ to an increasingly needy world.

In a world of moral chaos, social turmoil, and personal disillusionment, the gospel remains the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes in Christ (Romans 1:16).

Westlock Baptist Church began in 1993 when a group of believers joined together to establish a church committed to the gospel, the historic Christian faith and the foundational doctrines of the grace God. Westlock Baptist Church is a member of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada and holds to the historic confessions as well as the Fellowship Baptist Statement of Faith.

Some of the great beliefs of the faith are:

The Authority of the Scriptures alone for the faith and practice of the church
The Sovereignty of God over all creation and history
The Worship of God in holy wonder and adoration
The Knowledge and daily Experience of God as the most important pursuit of life
The Proclamation and application of the Gospel to every area and sphere of life
Justification by grace alone through faith in Christ alone .

It is Christ whom we preach, Christ whom we love, and Christ whom we desire to become like in our lives. We invite you to come and worship with us at Westlock Baptist Church. We desire to be a "welcoming congregation", showing Christ's love to others as He has welcomed us to the glory of God (Romans 15:7. Finding Westlock Baptist Church

People who know Westlock may be able to find us just by knowing who our neighbors are. The large Extra Foods store is on the east end of Westlock, just south of Highway 18. The church building is north of Highway 18, not too far from Extra Foods. The church is located across the street from the Westlock Day Care Centre and the UFA Store and Lumberyard.

Westlock Baptist Church is located a block north of Highway 18. When driving on Highway 18, turn north at the UFA Store and Lumberyard. Our church is to your west. The church is a white building with a cross on the front.
